  • ICOE will host its 5th Annual Imperial County Education Career Fair on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Southwest High School (Multi-Purpose Room). This event will be a great opportunity for those seeking careers in education to connect with school districts and higher education institutions. Local schools and school districts will conduct on-site interviews for both teaching and non-teaching positions. In previous years, many job seekers left the career fair with conditional job offers!

  • Don't miss the 39th Annual Children's Fair on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Bucklin Park in El Centro, CA. This event is brought to you by the Child Abuse Prevention Council.   • Winterhaven – Four teachers in the San Pasqual Valley Unified School District have recently been recognized for their laudable distinction of achieving the prestigious National Board Certification for teachers.  There are four teachers in the relatively small K-12 district on the far eastern side of Imperial County, who have earned National Board Certification, they are: B

  • EL CENTRO — The 13th annual Regional Spelling Bee on Wednesday night ultimately came down to a battle between Nathan Ostermann, a seventh grade Wilson Junior High student, and Mia Isabella Gutierrez, a sixth grade student at St. Mary’s Catholic School. The two were able to spell better than 61 other local contestants over the course of 14 rounds at the Jimmie Cannon Theater at Southwest High School.
