The Imperial County Credentials Office is a division of the Human Resources Department. The Credentials Office provides services to ICOE, local school districts, charter schools, education agencies, credentialed employees, prospective educators (trained in California, out-of-state or out-of-country), substitute teachers, and the community to ensure educator quality and preparation through oversight, advisement and assistance.
Functions of the Credentials Office include:
- Processing credential applications
- Coordinate temporary county certificate issuances
- Registration of teacher and services credentials
- Evaluating and advising on educator qualifications
- Online recommendations for substitute teacher permits and California Teacher Induction
- Dissemination and facilitation of credential regulations and training
- Serve as community resource on educator standards
- Monitor certificated assignments
