The California Department of Social Services is supporting Parents Anonymous in the launch of the new California Parent and Youth Helpline, which provides support and resource referrals to parent and youth during the current COVID-19 pandemic.  We are requesting your assistance in promoting the helpline by sharing the below information with your contacts and placing the logo on relevant websites:

  • Imperial County Behavioral Health Services (ICBHS) The Imperial County SELPA and its member School Districts maintain a strong partnership with ICBHS to ensure youth and young adults with disabilities who experience social-emotional and/or behavioral needs receive educationally related mental health services (ERMHS).  Based on the individual needs of students, IEP teams are able to determine if ICBHS services should be initiated. Using EBP in the Home and Community: Video Modeling

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million! Participants learned about this highly effective Evidence Based Practice (EBP) that can assist individuals with developmental disabilities in learning a broad array of skills from academic to self-help to job skills. Examples of various types of video models were shared and participants got a chance to plan and write a script for their own video that can be developed and used once they left the workshop.
